Born
in 1974 in Miami, Florida, Miles picked up her first camera at the early
age of eight. She graduated with top honors from the University of Miami
with a Bachelor of Science in Communications, in Photography/Video & Film
in 1996. After graduating she left to New York City where she spent
the next 5 years working in the television news industry and print advertising.
In September 2001, she re-located to Los Angeles, where she focused on her editorial & documentary style of work. In 2003, she was hired to photograph for “America’s Deadliest Season: Alaskan Crab Fishing”, a 3-hour documentary for the Discovery Channel. Following the success of the show, she returned to Dutch Harbor, Alaska several times to work on the Discovery Channel’s Emmy-nominated show “Deadliest Catch”, seasons 1 & 2, as not only Still Photographer, but also as the show’s Associate Producer and Underwater Camera. Miles specializes in the art of documentary photojournalism and underwater photography. She is currently a freelance photographer based out of Miami, Florida, however she maintains her digs in Los Angeles and New York. |
